Broncos Trick-or-Treat Party

This year we attended the annual Broncos Trick-or-Treat Street at the stadium. It's fun to get to walk around inside and they hand out candy, so the boys like it too. 

After walking around the stadium, we headed over to some activities they had set up. The boys liked this one where they got to pass the football to the receiver. I think each boy got at least one through a hole. 

Then we got our picture taken with the Broncos' two Super Bowl trophies. You don't see that everyday.

On our way back to the car, we stopped to get a picture with Miles the mascot. 

I think the boys had a great time. They love wearing their costumes so any activity that lets them do that is a winner.

Chatfield Corn Maze

Another Fall Break activity was a trip to the Chatfield Corn Maze. They opened up the maze early just for Douglas County students so it wasn't very crowded. I think the boys enjoyed themselves. They got to run around outside for quite a while so it was a good day for all. 

A 4,000lb pumpkin.

The goal of the maze (in addition to just getting out) was to find six farm animals along the way.

The boys took turns leading. I set a timer and each boy had 5 minutes to lead before it was the next one's turn. It actually worked out really well and there was no fighting the entire time. Miracle!

After finding all the animals, and the exit, we headed over to the activities. They had a jumping pillow. 

Josh and Daniel loved it. Patrick was not a fan of all the bouncing.

After jumping for a while, we headed over the covered wagon for a ride around the field. 

And we ended the day with a ride on the barrel train. 

It was a fun little outing and let the boys burn off some energy before heading back home.

Halloween Craft

During Fall Break I came up with a craft for the boys to do. I figured it would be fun for them and keep them busy for a while. It was both!

It started with painting an entire canvas. They each got to pick out their colors.

Then, we found ideas on Pinterest of how to decorate them. The ideas I found were either handprints or footprints. 

Josh liked the Frankenstein monster idea.

Patrick did both a footprint and a handprint to make this spooky picture.

And, of course, my artsy boy went rouge. He free-handed this skeleton and added the word "Boo" with wooden letters.

They were all very proud of their creation and had to show every body that visited. I would call this craft a success.

Another Cast for Daniel

At a football practice for Josh, one of Daniel's friends brought a scooter for him to ride so they were off riding around. Later, his friend came over and said he had fallen and hurt himself. I went over to see what happened and noticed his thumb didn't look quite right. So we took a trip to Urgent Care where we found out it was broken. Yikes.

They splinted it and we went in four days later to get a full cast. Daniel was pretty disappointed because he was invited to a pool party the following weekend. I guess the doctor took pity on him so she gave him a surprise cast.

He spent the entire casting like this...

...or like this, while the doctor gave him a blue cast, with a glow-in-the-dark stripe and drew a Broncos logo on it with the number 18 for his favorite player.

He wasn't too disappointed after that.

And three weeks later, the cast is gone. Now we can get back to normal.

Hopefully for a long time.

Week of Rockies Baseball

Joe got tickets to the Rockies/Pirates game on Wednesday from work so we headed downtown after school/work and enjoyed the game. The boys had fun watching the game and eating stadium food.

We also had fun with a picture on the way out of the stadium. 

Game one was a success!

The second game we attended this week was for Joe's office party. They had food catered in and had a fun area set up for the families before the game. Josh and I had to miss the party because he had a football game so we joined them at the game. It looks like they had fun though.

The boys loved it and didn't stop talking about it all night.

Meanwhile, Josh and I got to ride the train downtown to join them. He thought that was pretty cool.

It was a fun family night out.
