Patrick's 3rd Birthday (Part 2)

He's 3!!! So of course the day was all about him. He wanted funny face pancakes for breakfast. Dad went in a little late for work and make him chocolate chip pancakes. He was pretty excited. 

After breakfast, we headed out the door to take Josh to school and then went over to the neighborhood park. Josh's class was having a park day so we wanted to meet them there. No pictures because one park plus 100 3rd graders is quite busy. 

We left the park a little earlier than Josh to had to Patrick's 3 year old pictures at JCPenny's. This will be the last time we use a studio because he starts preschool in the fall and will get school pictures just like his brothers. 

After pictures we joined Dad for lunch at, his request, McDonald's. He enjoyed his lunch and playing in the play place with his brother. 

Then we headed over to a friend's house for a playdate before we picked Josh up from school. Since it was the last day of school, we got invited over to a friend's house for an end of the year celebration with root beer floats. It was fun to see all the kids running around. 

After Dad came home, we opened some gifts including a Kindle from Mom and Dad (now he doesn't have to borrow his brother's) and matching headphones from Aunt Jenny. Can you tell his favorite color?

Then we headed out to Red Robin for a birthday dinner. He was very specific with what he wanted: mac and cheese, fries, and ice cream. 

Check. Check...

...and Check. He thought them singing to him was pretty cool and he loved his ice cream.

Daniel's Kindergarten Graduation

This morning we celebrated Daniel's kindergarten graduation at Heritage Elementary school. It was a very sweet little ceremony. The kids sang songs.....

...recited an Alphabet poem....

...and got their diplomas!

Then we had a little reception in the library for all the graduates. 

Daniel and his awesome teacher, Mrs. Stephens. 

We had a blast this year, thanks to her. 

Daniel can't wait to be a 1st grader this August. 

Congratulations Buddy!

Afterwards Daniel invited a graduate friend over and we got to enjoy the first nice day in weeks. Daniel was pretty excited he got to take the car for a spin. 

It's been a pretty good morning. 

Rockies Game

A while ago the school sent out a flyer for discounted Rockies tickets to the game over Memorial Day weekend. So we loaded up the van and headed downtown for an afternoon at the ball field. 

Here we are sporting our new raincoats we got for our birthdays. They came in handy. 

We had some free seats next to us (probably due to the weather) so Patrick had lots of space to play. 

Then we had to evacuate the stadium due to lightning. The boys didn't mind the rain at all. They were running around, having a great time. 

After a two hour rain delay, we were finally able to see the game. The Rockies ended up winning 11-2. It was a fun game.

Patrick's 3rd Birthday (Part 1)

We had a party for Patrick's 3rd Birthday at our house. He wanted a chocolate cake with sprinkles so we got to baking on Friday. He got to help this year. He was pretty excited. (Who needs a Kitchen Aid when you have a three year old?)

And of course, since he helped, he got to lick the spoon.

Saturday morning he also helped decorate the cake. He picked out chocolate sprinkles and wanted to put them on the cake himself (can you tell?)

He was pretty proud of himself and got pretty upset when I tried to spread out the sprinkles so we just left them there and strategically placed the candles. 

His party was a Paw Patrol theme and I found some cute ideas on Pinterest. 

 

And then it was party time. We had some family and friends over to help celebrate. 

Patrick was pretty excited. 

I think he had a great time. Happy 3rd Birthday, Buddy!!

Patrick's 1st Dentist Appointment

We had our semi-annual Weldon family dentist appointment today (minus Daddy, he has his own schedule). Last appointment I figured Patrick would be almost 3 the next time we came in and he had seen many appointments since he always comes with us so I thought I would make an appointment for him as well. He watched me have my appointment and then it was his turn. He did great. 

He is the only one of my kids to need to sit on my lap during the appointment. The joys of being a momma's boy. I think he will be fine with this dentist thing.

Mother's Day

I had a fabulous Mother's Day this year. Much better than being without Daddy and running over 4 miles in the snow like last year. Although we did have snow again this year. We got about 9 inches over night. That meant the baseball game we had scheduled was cancelled for the day so we made new plans and met up with the Weldon's at The Ridge for a brunch.  

Then we headed home for a relaxing afternoon of reading in bed (my kind of day).

Then I decided we would to ice cream for dinner! Along with all the other mother's so we ended up eating the car, but it still tasted pretty good. 

I'm one lucky momma!

Crazy Hair Day

This week is school spirit week and today was crazy hair day. I just had to take pictures of both boys. It was pretty fun.

Building a Planet

Daniel is always wanting to get a balloon from the grocery store so that gave my an idea. I told him the next time we got a balloon, we would make a planet out of it using paper mache. He was very excited. So, the next time we went to the grocery store, we got a balloon and got busy. He wasn't too excited about getting messy, but I made him do it all by himself. 

Then we had to wait for it to dry.

Originally it was going to be Saturn. We even checked out books from the library about Saturn so he would know what it looks like. When we went to start painting though, he decided it should be the sun. So he got busy painting it yellow and orange (again, all on his own).

Patrick wanted to paint too so I let him help me with a school project. He painted an apple red...

...for this wreath I made Daniel's teacher. Pretty cute, huh?

Here is the finished sun. He wants to make an entire solar system and hang it from the ceiling. We'll see how far he gets. Pretty crafty though.
