Patrick's 6th Birthday

I can't believe my baby is 6!

Of course, he wanted to help me make the cake so he could like the bowl.

This year, he wanted a birthday party at Laser Quest. So we invited his friends from school and battled it out in the arena.

For his laser birthday

Happy Birthday, little man. We are so excited to see what you have in store for us next year.

Josh's 6th Grade Graduation

The 6th grade has one less day of school that the rest of the students. On their last day of school, the younger students line the walls and clap out the 6th graders. The parents line the front hall to watch them leave. It's an emotional time. Josh started Kindergarten at this school, so it was his "home" for 7 years. It was hard to see him walk out.

This is the best picture I got of him

That evening, they held a graduation ceremony at the middle school. They had a whole program including speeches by the teachers, the assistant principal, and even one student from each class. I held it together until the assistant principal read a children's book about kids growing up. 😢

The kids ended it with a 6th grade mic drop they had planned. It was a fitting ending to elementary school.

Mrs. Fraiser's Class

Congratulations, Josh! We can't wait to see what your future holds!

6th Grade Kickball Game

At the end of every school year, the faculty takes on the sixth grade class in a game of kickball. Some of the faculty take it very seriously and the kids love it. They practice at recess every day leading up to the game. The entire school comes out to watch and cheer them on. It's a fun activity.

This year the 6th graders won in a nail bitter. The kids hadn't won for almost 10 years, so they were pretty proud.

Cowboy Soccer

Patrick got back in to soccer this spring with the Cowboys. He was excited to have a friend from school on the team.

He had a great season and learned so much.

Go Cowboys!

Field Day 2018

This year was Josh's last field day (and Patrick's first) so I had to get a picture of all the boys in the morning.

The school puts out all kinds of activities for the kids to do. The entire school is outside and they rotate around to the different stations. Since this is the 6th graders 7th field day, they get to help out at the stations.

They had some new ones this year, like noodle fighting...

...tug of war...

...and blacktop hockey.

They also had face painting.

It's always a fun way to start the end of the year wrap up.

Mother's Day in Kindergarten

This year in Kindergarten, instead of having a graduation program, the kindergarteners had a Mother's Day spa day at school. It was very cute.

They sang us songs they had learned in music class.

They painted our nails...

and styled our hair (Patrick needed a little more instructions on what each thing was for since he doesn't have any sisters to practice on).

We got to share cookies from Eileen's. My favorite cookie place. Yum!

It was a fun afternoon spent with my little. Happy Mother's Day to me.
