School Valentine's Parties

Every year, the boys' school has Valentine's Parties at school. They call them a Party with a Purpose and use them to have the kids do something good for the community.

I try to have the kids reuse their Valentine "boxes" each year but Daniel's broke last year so he needed to make a new one. His choice was the Death Star.

Here is how it turned out.

In Josh's room, in addition to their charity, they also played games, like this one where they had to blow q-tips through straws into bowls.

Daniel's class decorated capes made out of t-shirts to give to the kids at the hospital.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Skate City

The boys' school hosts skate nights every once in a while at Skate City. Daniel and Patrick enjoy going. Josh tends to skip them. Daniel got inline skates for his birthday and is starting to get the hang of it.

Patrick still uses the helper but he sure has fun.

Plus they get snacks.

It's a fun time with friends and keeps them active.

Packers Playoffs

Football Sunday usually means watching the game at the Weldons. Today was no exception. We were cheering on the Packers, hoping for a playoff win, so I came prepared with coordinating snacks.

Football deviled eggs.

Packers cake balls (and nails).

The boys were ready to cheer them on.

Houston Auntie Visit

My sister had a baby in December, so I planned a long weekend trip out to Houston to meet my new nephew and help out around the house. It was a weekend full of baby snuggles, dance parties, and packing (they are moving in February).

Meet Colin.

Both big sisters are beyond excited to have him around.

We got a lot packed for the move. Hopefully they won't need any of this in the next month.

I even made pizza one night and attempted to make Mickey Mouse our of pepperonis per request. At least that was the plan.

I'm so glad I got to spend the weekend with these three kiddos (and their parents). Welcome to the family, Colin.

New Years Eve

We hosted New Year's for the 2nd time since we have lived out here. The Van Wyks came out to celebrate with us. Aunt Jeni set up a scavenger hunt for the kids to keep them occupied. It included crafts and activities. They loved it.

There were activities for the big kids too and fun games to play.

Here's to a great 2017!

Ugly Sweater Run

Every time Cousin Abby comes to town, we try to plan a 5k to run. This year we signed up for the Ugly Sweater Run in Denver. Unfortunately, the night before the race it snowed about 8 inches and was 1° the morning we were supposed to run so we decided to skip that one. Luckily, Castle Rock hosts a 5k on New Year's Eve morning, so we signed up for that one. And wore our Ugly Sweaters.

It wasn't our best run...but we finished.

And got doughnuts afterwards.

Ready to run!

Weldon Christmas in Colorado

We took our Christmas celebrations back home to Colorado with a few tag alongs. The Feuling girls and Grandma and Grandpa Weldon came along for the ride.

We made it out to the new Star Wars movie.

And we got to celebrate with Abby who was visiting from Germany.

And who brought German booze.

We also got our nails done, because why not.

And what do you do with the aluminum foil you just received for Christmas....

Make helmets.

Merry Christmas Weldons!
