Halloween 2017

The boys had their Halloween parties at school again this year.

How cute are the snacks in Daniel's room?
Daniel's class made pumpkin lava bottles where they mixed baby oil and water with glitter in a plastic bottle and decorated them to look like jack 'o lanterns. Fun project.

Josh's class had a doughnut eating contest where they had doughnuts hung from the ceiling and you had to eat the entire doughnut without using your hands or letting it fall. Yikes!

Patrick's class played games...

...made foam characters...

...and spider hats.

Spooky!
Halloween night included Dad taking the boys trick or treating while Mom manned the house.

Happy Halloween!

Trick or Treat Street

The Skate City night was the same night as the Trick or Treat Street at our high school so we tried out a different one this year at Highlands Ranch High School.

They had a lot more games.

The even had the robot club set up so the kids could drive the robots...

....to pick up their candy.

It was a fun night!

Skate City Family Night

The boys' school hosted a family night at Skate City so we loaded in the van and drove over for some fun.

Josh isn't a skater but enjoyed the time with friends.

It was a glow night so we bought some fun things to glow in the dark.

Brings back memories of middle school. Ha!

Patriots Fall Flag Football

Josh joined the Patriots again for the Fall Flag Football season. He kept himself busy this season playing some quarterback, wide receiver, running back, defense, and kicker.

Touchdown!

Thanks for a fun season, boys.

Iowa State vs Kansas

Also on Fall Break, we drove to Iowa and took Josh to an Iowa State game. They were playing Kansas. It was pouring and freezing outside, so we camped our car next to a trailer with a TV and tailgated inside.

Well, most of us did. Of course, kids don't care about weather.

It was a great game with a fantastic outcome (45-0).

Great Wolf Lodge Colorado Springs

Over the boys' Fall Break this year, we finally got to stay at the Great Wolf Lodge down in Colorado Springs. We had heard they were building one and couldn't wait for it to open. We stayed two nights and spent the full two days at the waterpark. The boys loved it.

There were four big slides, a wave pool, a playground with slides and squirt guns, and a kiddie area.

Patrick was too scared to go down any of the big slides so he stuck to the kiddie area.

The big boys had no issues with all the slides. Mom and Dad even had a few rides.

The Wave Pool was also a big hit.

The entire month of October, the hotel was celebrating Halloween. So one night, we dressed up in costumes and walked around paling games.

Patrick's favorite thing to do (once he came out of the kiddie area) was this rope challenge. He loved it and would go across it over and over again.

The second night we were there, our friends come down to stay too so the kids had some friends to hang out with.

Daniel's favorite slide was called the Wolf's Tail. It was a slide that dropped you straight down and around. You started on a platform that would then drop out and down you went. He loved it!
Josh enjoyed the Howllin' Tornado. You set in a four person tube and drop into a bowl that eventually spits you out at the end. The "bowl" was outside so at night, it was pitch black.
We stayed in a "cabin suite" which had a cabin inside the room with three beds and a TV. We weren't allowed in their cabin and they weren't allowed in our room. It was a nice set up.

It was a great trip that we will definitely need to do again. Anyone want to come?

Orange Crush Flag Football

Patrick entered the world of flag football this fall. His team was the Orange Crush. We knew the coach from soccer and there were a few boys from school on the team as well.

They had a rough start to the season but ended strong. It was fun to watch him learn as the season went along.

Great season Orange Crush!
