Christmas with the Strutt's, part 1

With everyone's schedules this year, we had to celebrate Christmas with the Strutt's at two different times. First, it was with the Minnesota crew. 

With only six little ones, it was a laid back holiday. 

Thanks for making the trip down, Jon and Jaclyn (and kids). It was great to see you!

Christmas in McGregor

We traveled to McGregor, IA, to visit with family for the holidays. We started with a potluck lunch at the apartments with the Henkes crew on Saturday. There were a few missing due to illness, and others due to schedules, but it was a fun gathering with great family and great food.

Sunday we spent the day at Grandma and Grandpa Great's house to hang out with the Strutt side.

There were plenty of kids to hang out with. The kids have a lot of 2nd cousins.

 Since Sunday was Christmas Eve, we headed up to the Methodist church for their candlelight service.

Then we headed back to Grandma and Grandpa Great's house for dinner.

Christmas at home

We celebrated Christmas early this year, as usual. The boys got to pick out new ornaments to commemorate the year. Then we decorated the tree. 

This year, we bought a Lego train to eventually put under the big tree (the Christmas Story one broke. 😢). The boys had fun building it with Daddy.  

We also kept up the tradition of building a Rice Krispie train for Santa. Each boy decorated a car. 

We put out the treats with orange juice and the train. 

Then we woke up early to see what he had left us. 

We must have been very good this year. We were spoiled!
