Heritage Fund Run

The boys enjoyed another successful fund run for their school this year. This year's theme was super hero. They got to dress up and had fun running laps, doing and obstacle course, and going down a bouncy slide.

It was a great success for the school. Thank you to all who donated. It was greatly appreciated!

Broncos 7k

A race I had heard about last year but not in enough to register and run it was the Broncos 7k. So, this year, I decided it was something I wanted to run. I recruited some others to run with me. Kerry and her two girls and Daniel all ran the race this year.

The packet pick-up was the day before. They had a few players on hand to sign autographs for everyone.

The day of the race we got there bright and early all dressed in our Broncos best.

The runners pre-race

One of the cool parts of the race was the finish. You actually got to run through the player's entrance tunnel and onto the field. The finish line was a the 50 yard line.  And it was all on the jumbotron. Very cool!

The finisher's medals were made to resemble the Broncos Super Bowl rings.

While we were all running, Joe and the other boys walked around the Health Expo that was being held at the stadium. They even got pictures with two of the Super Bowl trophies (the newest one was still getting engraved).

After the race, we got to meet some Bronco alumni and got more autographs.

Steve Watson and Rick Upchurch

And tried on the AFC championship ring. (Notice my Broncos nails done by my niece).

This is definitely an event I will do again!

MN Strutt's Visit

The Strutts from Minnesota planned a trip out to the mountains and we were lucky enough to see them on the front and back ends of their trip. There was a lot of fun cousin time hanging out at the house and a yummy breakfast at Snooze.

Thanks for visiting, Strutts!!

South Dakota Trip-Day 3

Another memory I have from my childhood trip to South Dakota, was a waterpark called Evans Plunge. I have been telling Joe about this since we've been married. So, of course, I made everyone drive the extra hour to visit it while we were here.

It was just like I remembered. Three slides, a kiddie area, and rings. I think everyone enjoyed it though. I know the boys loved the water slides.

After the water park, we drove though Custer State Park along the Needles Highway. It was a very pretty area. With a lot of buffalo to see along the way.

Including wondering thought a parking lot. I guess even animals are tourists.

Of course, we had to drive though the Needles Eye Tunnel. It was a tight squeeze.

Then we headed back to see Crazy Horse during the day.

And made a stop for ice cream on our way to see Mount Rushmore at night.

We woke up the next morning and hit an all you can eat pancake breakfast before heading out of town.

Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for sharing this fantastic trip and making such good memories.
