Halloween

Halloween is generally a week long celebration at our house. We started Wednesday night at the local high school's Trick or Treat Street. They always do a  really good job of decorating the school and make it fun for the kids. They are also so polite when handing out the candy. It's a fun event.

Each "pod" was decorated with a different theme. They cover every inch of the walls.

The celebration continued on Friday morning with the kids' school parties. This year was the first year I had overlapping parties so Patrick and I had to split our time between Daniel and Josh's rooms. Patrick got two sets of snacks so he wasn't complaining.

Then Patrick and I headed outside to wait for the school's Halloween parade. While we were waiting we ran into one of his classmates that was dressed as Captain America. How cute are they?

After the parade, Patrick and I headed to the airport to pick up Grandma and Grandpa Strutt to start a fun filled weekend. 

On Saturday night, for the first time, the boys got to go trick or treating with Grandma and Grandpa Strutt. They were so excited. It was a special event. 

Some houses go all out for Halloween. 

The boys got scared a few times but I think they had fun. Patrick stopped before the other two and Daniel had to make a candy drop before heading back out again.

This house even created a Haunted House in their driveway. We had been watching them put it up and Daniel was very excited to finally be able to go through it.

Pumpkin Carving

We decided to carve pumpkins tonight because that was the only free night between now and Halloween (Yikes!). Each boy had their own pumpkin we got from the Broncos Bunch Trick or Treat Street. They planned out their own design and got to carving. 

Patrick was a not a fan of the inside of the pumpkin but tried to clean it out anyway. He didn't make it very far. 

The other boys did most of the cleaning and carving themselves. 

I helped Patrick with his carving, which turned into me carving it myself. 

Daniel designed his own face and Dad helped him carve the entire them.

Josh did everything all by himself. It's nice when they get old enough to help out.

Besides the blurry pictures, I think they turned out pretty well. 

Champs Again!

Josh's baseball team had another great season. This one ran from August to October. It's a less competitive league with one practice a week (which he had to miss due to football) and one game on Sundays. The boys get to play different positions to work on their baseball skills. Josh even got to pitch one game (which I had to miss, luckily. That always makes me anxious).

 The team ended the season 10-1 and another title. They got t-shirts instead of trophies to memorialize the achievement.

These boys don't have any fun, do they?

The team ended 2015 with a 26-2 record. What an amazing year! We look forward to seeing where these boys will go next.

Master Bathroom Remodel

This post started out very different when we tore up the bathroom on August 8th but the explanation of issues and problems got too long, so it is now just photos of the before and after. I am so happy with the result so let's not focus on what happened over the last two months (yes, two months without the master bathroom).

And here are some fun detail shots. 

This was the accent tile the rest of the bathroom was designed around. I fell in love with it the first time I saw it and knew it had to go in the bathroom. It made Joe's job harder finding tile for the rest of the bathroom, but I think it looks great.

I wanted to add more color into the room and found this idea on Pinterest. It's like a fun surprise every time you open the drawers.

Isn't my husband the best? We kept the large builder grade mirror because I liked the size. He built a frame to go around it and made it look so much better. 

I am so excited with the end result.
